Scented Candles and Reed Diffusers

Candle or diffuser?
A candle throws more scent but only while lit, and it needs attention — burn it long enough on the first use to melt the whole surface, or it will tunnel for the rest of its life. A diffuser is lower and constant, better for hallways and bathrooms where nobody is sitting.
Do these make safe gifts?
They are among the safest fragrance gifts, because a room scent carries none of the risk of choosing someone else's skin scent. Sealed, boxed and genuine. Burn time is the number worth comparing rather than size — a smaller multi-wick candle often outlasts a taller single-wick one, because the melt pool reaches the edge instead of tunnelling down the middle.
