Concentration. A body mist carries far less fragrance oil than an eau de parfum, so it sits closer to the skin and fades in a couple of hours rather than lasting the day. That is the point — it is meant to be reapplied freely, layered over a matching body lotion, or worn when a full perfume would be too much.
